Inspiration of the week 03

This week I have chosen designer/artist Yulia Brodskaya’s work with paper modeling.

“Yulia Brodskaya was born in Russia (Moscow); prior to moving to the UK in 2004 she was interested in diverse creative practices ranging from Textile Painting, Origami and Collage to more traditional Fine Art practices. Following an MA in Graphic Communication (2006, University of Hertfordshire) she has continued to experiment and explore ways of bringing together all the things she likes most: typography, paper, and highly detailed hand-made craft objects.”

Whistler Artwalk Mountain Base Opening Reception

Join the Whistler Arts Council and local artists on Friday 31st July, 09 for the 2nd 2009 Artwalk Opening Reception in Whistler.

Another evening of local art, live music, appies and tastings! If you missed out on the first reception, now is your last chance to experience the Village’s only summer community party. This round features venues from Village Common to Upper Village. In addition to art and appies, catch a glimpse of the Lopes’ beautiful walking art in the midst of creation at the Westin Resort & Spa; or Liks painting graffiti art in Mountain Square to the tunes of Whistler’s own The Release; or Taka Sudo and Lauren Ritz painting at Dincus Apparel and Evolution with Flatback Trio jamming in Village Square.

ArtWalk After Party
The tour will end around 9:30pm, but the party will continue on at the ArtWalk After Party in the FireRock Lounge in the Westin Resort & Spa. DJ Foxy Moron will be spinning ’til midnight.
